Bannisters Mollymook Wedding
Located on the headland near Mollymook Beach, on New South Wales South Coast, is a hotel and restaurant boasting the best seafood and wine by the infamous celebrity chef, Rick Stein. I must say the food was outstanding!
Samarah & Grant planned a Bannisters Mollymook Wedding because they love Rick Stein’s kitchen. It was an intimate family affair, and I had the honour of being a guest and documenter of their day.
I started early to time-lapse the sunrise around the hotel. I noticed a seal swimming, diving and playing in the cliffy waters surrounding Bannisters Point. Samarah and her family were getting ready at a holiday rental a couple of doors up from the hotel. Samarah’s sister and mother hand made the bridal bouquets and flower crowns as they were getting their hair and makeup done.
The ceremony was on the grass area below the Balcony of their reception room with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. Both Samarah and Grant’s vows were so heartfelt and beautiful, and the weather was perfect for the occasion.
Cameron Kimber Penthouse Reception
The crowning jewel of Bannisters Mollymook Wedding Venue is the Cameron Kimber Penthouse, which is suitable for an intimate family celebration like Samarah & Grant’s. Speeches proceeded as we waited for Rick Stein’s kitchen to prepare the luncheon. An appetiser of locally caught prawns and fresh oysters before the main courses of:
- Pan Fried Blue Trevalla, Clams Garlic Butter and Sautéed Spinach ⠀
- Crispy Skin Salmon Fillet with a Thai Red Curry Sauce – Served with a green mango salad⠀
- Roasted Lamb Rump – With a ragout of spring vegetables, Serrano ham and miso broth ⠀
- Broccolini with Lemon Oil, Parmesan and Toasted Almonds
We ended the day shooting sunset photos on Mollymook Beach, as it is nowhere suitable for twilight photos directly around the hotel.
