Clytie & David’s Beautiful Growwild Wildflower Farm Wedding
Weddings are all about celebrating love and channelling the most candid joy! What makes me passionate about my job as an NSW wedding photographer is precisely that and couples who fill my heart with laughter and authentic moments. And when it comes to Clytie and David, they inspired me to click the buttons of my cameras till my fingers get numb! It is rare to see such adoration and devotion in couples, so I am so grateful they asked me to become a part of their rustic wedding. Oh, and their Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding venue? Mind-blowingly beautiful!
All the anticipation! Getting ready moments
Clytie and David got ready at an air BNB 56 Centennial Rd Bowral. It was soooo relaxed and wonderful that I wholeheartedly took my time to capture their magic. They both worked as nurses and needed their well deserved nuptial escape; they made sure to savour every day, including the getting ready moments. The memories of being seven years together started rushing and were transcribed into genuine emotions of joy. It was easy to feel their love as they had led such a beautiful life together. I loved hearing all about how Dave proposed to Clytie – it happened at a private vineyard in Mudgee at sunset with their 18month son running around in the background! It was heartwarming to see their son spend time with both of his parents during these moments. Despite his young existence, he knew that this day was going to be the best one yet.
Also, Clytie’s time with her mum and grandmother melted me, and I loved taking snaps of their moments together. One of the cutest moments of their relationship? When Clytie asked him when did he know that she was the one? The answer was candid and straightforward – ‘I always knew she was the one. I know; you melted as well!

Autumn wedding colour palette with alluring rust oranges and deep red flair
Everything embodied autumnal and rustic wedding colours, from the bridal look to the decorations. Clytie wore a gorgeous ivory bridal dress with a puffy sleeve that added a modern and dramatic touch but completed her look with stunning red velvet shoes. I love when brides follow their style and opt for something ordinary. To complement her awe-inspiring theme, the bridesmaids wore burgundy dresses with classic gold jewellery, and the groom and groomsmen wore grey jackets with black pants and unique burgundy accessories! It is always a photographic delight when the whole palette comes together beautifully.
The floral beauty was dominant as it stole the attention of everyone. The flowers embodied the autumn wedding feel with a statement look, featuring rust oranges, deep reds, sage and brown. Not to mention how gorgeously the colours stood out against the green backdrop of the venue. From the ceremony arbour adornment to the reception tables, this Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding was a delight to capture – both emotionally and aesthetically.

Dive into the Southern Highlands amidst wildflower farm
NSW exudes breathtaking venues, but the Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding venue is a world of its own! Sublime picturesque, tranquil sceneries set the tone of Clytie and David’s celebration, evoking the perfect whimsical feel. As a Sydney wedding photographer, I can say that the location is quite convenient for any event and escapism from the city as it is just a 1-hour drive. To find this wildflower farm wedding venue, you need to turn from the Hume Motorway and in 3 km, you will easily reach it! Secluded yet easily accessible – the perfect combination. It is also close to the towns Mittagong, Bowral and Berrima, making it tight for guests who want to explore other amenities. As for the natural allure, you can rest assured that your breath will be taken away as soon as you gaze upon its grounds. With secret gardens, lawns, a romantic marquee, and barn charm, there won’t be a guest that won’t fall in love with its beauty!
What I also loved about this venue was the fact that it is a family-owned business. Trust me; the owners are so excellent and friendly that you will feel right at home. In addition, you get to unleash your creative side as you will also get a plain canvas to tailor your epic day. Not to mention how the NSW bushland surroundings and wildflowers will be the perfect backdrop! The best part is that you get to have intimacy as it will be exclusively yours for the day. Who doesn’t love fairytale settings and the feeling of being in your world for the most important event of your life?

Clytie and David fell in love with the authentic rustic beauty of the Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding venue
The intimate private beauty of this Southern Highlands wedding venue made Clytie and David determined to book it and tailor their iconic day. A wildflower farm surrounding it was a turning point that created a bespoke experience. Of course, the owners explained everything to the couple and catered to every need they had – which is always worth more than you know!
Even though they had plans to host their wedding outdoors, the NSW weather naturally had other plans in the secret garden. It has been raining A LOT, so the ground was too mushy. Instead, they arranged to say their vows and sacraments in the barn. Even though it was pretty challenging to capture angles, you can notice that nothing is impossible for me as a professional NSW wedding photographer!

An unexpected twist, a beautiful barn wedding ceremony and romantic portraiture
As an NSW wedding photographer, I love seeing my couples being so excited to step into the next chapter of their lives. And when it comes to Clytie and David, they couldn’t wait for the moment to go fast enough! However, 48 hours before their wedding, the celebrant cancelled due to Covid. Of course, you might think this is a horror scenario just before the big day itself! Luckily, Chris North stepped in and did a tremendous job; he got everyone laughing and didn’t trip up. I was so impressed! He made the whole affair so relaxed by being the ice breaker and setting the tone for the rest of their Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding. The vows were exceptional and genuine, evoking the perfect happy tear emotions.
After they tied the knot, we explored this Southern Highlands wedding venue’s property for their intimate portraiture. I must take a moment to thank the hosts, Jane and Lukas, as they were so helpful and friendly! Lukas even drove Clytie around in a buggy so she wouldn’t have to walk around the estate for the portraits because the grounds were mushy enough. How incredibly thoughtful of him! During their beautiful portraits and the whole celebration, I also got some excellent Kodak Porta 400 film photos with my Dad’s antique wedding camera – a 1962 Mamiya Professional C3. You must have noticed that I adore blending more options to capture the essence of the big day in more ways than one. Like many couples before, Clytie and David loved this unique touch!

All the joy, happiness and dancing – a reception to remember!
They celebrated their love in the marquee setting of the Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding venue, which was tailored to fit their vision. When celebrating in this tented area, you are free to paint your dreams and decorate everything in your way. Loved all of the fairy lights that genuinely added a touch of whimsy to their party! Clytie and David soaked every moment of it, sharing all of their emotions with their guests. Whenever I turned to capture the vibe, I could see happy and smiling faces everywhere.
The seating areas made the whole reception feel laid-back and relaxed, just perfect for a breather. I also bumped into Natalie singing for Tillee Music – I used to go to church with her at Shire Live back as a teenager. It was a pleasant surprise as she is so friendly and knew exactly how to elevate the wedding atmosphere with her performance!
