If you haven’t experienced how delightful the Next Door Cronulla wedding venue is yet, you’re in for a treat! Because I was blown away as the wedding photographer for Sydney couple Jess & Nick’s big day there recently. The picturesque views of Cronulla Beach were certainly on display and served as the perfect canvas for their special day. While the whole team looked after us like we were family! A stunning place to celebrate tying the knot, and these guys made it their own.
Hitting the Beat in Cronulla
It’s always an honour to be chosen as someone’s wedding photographer, but it’s a special privilege when you get to photograph a couple who are also Sydney police officers! Jess and Nick are both officers of the law, and in fact, met while on the job. To be more specific, they met in Cronulla and subsequently shared many memorable moments down there by the beach. This is why this charming couple decided to host their nuptials at the Next Door Cronulla wedding venue, in honour of their special place.
The Next Door Cronulla Wedding Venue is the Perfect Spot for a Cocktail by the Ocean
As a couple, Jess and Nick are so down to earth and relaxed. Even on their wedding day, when you’d give them licence to blow a fuse or two, they were both still super calm. Which is another reason why the Next Door Cronulla wedding venue was such a good choice for their big day. A fresh, breezy spot that’s perfect for chilling, and embracing the beautiful natural surroundings all around. Maybe with a cocktail or two! And that view is much loved by our couple, who adore just sitting and watching the ocean during a rare day off.
A Dreamy Setting Full of Little Surprises
The Cronulla views were certainly enjoyed not just during their Next Door reception, but also during their wedding ceremony. A really fun, and relaxed affair that even managed to incorporate Nick’s love for VW Kombi’s, with his own van being used to transport the groom to the ceremony. A ceremony that took place in the picturesque, Oak Park. With French antique framed doors used to form an arch, blooming bunches of fresh pale pink and white flowers, and guests all lined up in rows.
It was a dreamy setting. And one that was full of laughter and touching moments right from the off. Like when daughter Indi pulled her sister Tilly down the aisle in a cute beach cart! Everyone loved that!
Drama & Romance Artfully Combined
Following the sweet nuptials in Oak Park, Jess and Nick strolled over to the Next Door Cronulla wedding venue for their chilled out reception. But not before their talented, yet humble Cronulla wedding photographer took them aside for their portraits!
Together, we decided to gather the family first, and take a few fun shots backdropped by the ocean. The little ones looked so adorable in their outfits and were a delight the whole time. Especially when they got to sit in Dad’s VW Kombi. You could tell they’ve had some really great times in there. In the end, the kids were led away to be looked after, so Jess, Nick and I could capture some romantic shots overlooking the ocean. While exploring the area, the couple found a precarious position, out on a plinth, over the beach. And it created some wonderfully dramatic moments, with the pair embracing, and looking out over the horizon.
Finally, it was time to celebrate the nuptials of Jess and Nick, and so we joined the rest of the gang down at the Next Door Cronulla wedding venue. By the looks of things, the party had already begun. With friends and family alike all outside, enjoying the warm weather and ocean breeze, drink in hand. Soon the newlyweds caught up on the vibe and loved being able to freely chat with their loved ones. Their reception decor was kept simple, save for a few statement pieces of stationery and neutral styling items. All lovingly put together by Jess and Nick.
Cake, Big News & Celebrations at the Next Door Cronulla Wedding Venue
The crescendo of the evening was certainly the cake and the toasts. And in keeping with the rest of the day, these two events were suitably chilled. First came speeches, and Jess and Nick had some pretty big news to share during their toast! The reaction when their loved ones found out that they were expecting was priceless, and a privilege to be able to capture on camera.
Then it was time for their closest loved ones to share a few words. A touching moment, and one we could see Jess and Nick really appreciated. Almost as much as they appreciated their wedding cake! A gorgeous pale pink, nude design crafted by Christine, Nick’s mum. Its paired-back design and neutral colouring suited their ocean-front setting perfectly and matched the aesthetic the guys at the Next Door Cronulla wedding venue had created for their reception.
Jess and Nick celebrated their nuptials at the Next Door Cronulla wedding venue in just the way they dreamed of. It was a day full of chilled Summer vibes, surrounded by loved ones and wafts of the warm ocean breeze. The whole gang were a joy to photograph, and I loved being able to capture them all together.
